The clients requested an inviting covered entry and to enhance the usability of the existing den. While small in scale, the renovations to this home have a big impact. The solution was to provide a new covered entry structure and increase the size of the existing den minimally and convert it to a fully glazed sunroom. The new entry is comprised of a copper gabled roof, arched clear stained wood ceiling, new entry door to increase amount of glass, and new stone base. The stone base under the roof is bench height for the children to sit at while waiting for the school bus. Traditional detailing was employed to keep in character with both the house and streetscape of the existing neighborhood.
